What is Own Art?
Own Art is a publicly funded scheme available through a network of participating
members across the UK. You can use Own Art to help finance the purchase of a wide range of art and craft by living artists. Spread the cost of your purchase over ten months, completely interest-free.
Are you eligible?
Own Art is available through participating members to permanent UK residents over the age of 18, subject to status, lender eligibility criteria and terms and conditions.To apply, you will need to meet the lender’s eligibility criteria. This will usually include one of the following:
• A retired person in receipt of a pension
• A person in receipt of disability allowance
• Working at least 16 hours a week (employed or self-employed)
If you do not meet one of these criteria but are married to or living with a partner
who does, then you may still apply provided that your partner is happy for their
income details to be included on your application form. Any application will still
be subject to the lender’s assessment and terms.
How does it work?
You can choose to finance all or just part of your purchase and multiple items can be bought with one loan. The best part is that you can take your masterpiece home with you straight away.
How do I apply?
Applying for an Own Art loan is easy! The first stage is the difficult bit – deciding what to buy. Once you’ve found the artwork that you want to buy, just let us know that you’d like to apply for an Own Art loan to finance your purchase. All you will need to start with is proof of residence and signature - for example, a driving license.
How long does it take to apply?
It only takes 10 minutes! We’ll take you through the loan application process. Once you have supplied all the information we need, you’ll get an instant decision. If your application is approved you will need you to sign the agreement and you can take your artwork away there and then.
You can also apply online. Just email printsales@tpg.org.uk and we'll send you the link to complete your application from the comfort of your own home. To set this up for you, we will just need your name, email, and telephone number. You will then receive an email from Own Art’s finance partner, Novuna, to fill out your personal details. Once approved, you will receive a welcome letter from Novuna, and following this, your 10 monthly payments will be collected from your account by direct debit. The first payment is usually collected four weeks after you have made your purchase, although timings may vary. You can contact Novuna to change to a more convenient payment date for you, subject to Novuna’s processes.
