South African photographer, Daniel Naudé (b.1984), is known for his striking portraits of animals, both domesticated and wild, across the South African landscape and beyond. While they appear staged, the images are actually the result of patience and careful timing which the artist uses to highlight an uneasy moment of human-animal interaction.
Following an encounter with a bull standing on a beach of the South African Wild Coast - which he photographed as part of his celebrated project Animal Farm (2010) - Naudé voyaged back to these shores many times over the coming decade to document the cattle that roam still shores, and their symbolic links to human history of the area.
